Abuse During Pregnancy: A Seminar Built for Charles County Health Care Providers

Virtual Event - Two Different Offerings!

Join as the Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence, a project of the Center for a Healthy Maryland, presents “Abuse During Pregnancy,” a seminar open to Charles County Health Care Providers. Participants will learn about an effective and proactive health care response to intimate partner violence during the perinatal period.

Research shows that victims of intimate partner violence are more likely to present in the health care setting than they may be to reach out to a traditional domestic violence service provider on their own: and pregnant individuals have regular contact with health care providers. However, many health care providers’ scope of practice may be very focused on narrowly defined medical care management and those professionals may feel challenged when faced with the complicated safety and confidentiality issues that IPV victims who are patients bring. Join the seminar to learn about enhancing your practice and making a difference in the lives of Charles County victims of abuse!

The seminar will be offered two different dates and times:

  • May 30th, 2024, 10:00am – 12:00pm (Register here)
  • June 5th, 2024, 1:00pm – 3:00pm (Register here)
