The Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence, through participation in the National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma and Mental Health’s Learning Collaborative, developed materials to assist advocates working in the medical setting who want to make their services more accessible, culturally responsive and trauma-informed for survivors of abuse.
Two pieces, Guidance for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocates Working in a Medical Setting and the abbreviated companion Tips for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advocates Working with Survivors in a Medical Setting offer person-centered key points and strategies for advocates in hospital-based response programs and advocates from community-based service providers who conduct interventions in hospitals and clinics.
